Jay,

I was a member of that team, if you look in the 1986 yearbook you can see me in the water. They cancelled the team our senior year, I was set to be the capitan, that never happened, though I was the capitan of the Rifle team, fun times.

Jay,

I do remember those good old days! Ontario was a blast, the time there was great. I wish at times we could relive those years. 22 years have past since graduation, 22 years of life have flown by.

It was awesome seeing you in Tampa this last week. And thanks for coming out to dinner with all...time spent with you was well worth it. I just hope we don't have to wait another 22 years to get back together again!

Take care,

Andrew

TWO tables?! Whoa. That certainly is the other extreme from being the superintendent's waiter and only having one person, let alone the one table I had when being a "normal" waiter!

Can you recommend any good study materials for the Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum test? The only study guides I've found for it online have abysmal reviews.

For your own quest, have you looked into the Educator Preparation Institute program in Florida? I'm starting the one at Hillsborough Community College in October. It's a statewide program that's geared toward working adults (through online and evening classes)who already have bachelor's degrees in subjects other than education. It essentially covers the 15 credit hours in education courses required to obtain the 5-year renewable Florida teaching certificate. The kicker is that the courses are taught by local school principals, which makes it a tremendous networking opportunity as well.

Legend had it that in the late '70s, someone, as a practical joke, put two golf balls in the howitzer that fired blank rounds during parades. So during a parade, when the howitzer fired, the golf balls allegedly shot out and broke the windows in the I.A. Building.

What later became M Company was called the North Wing, and what became L Company was called the South Wing (makes sense). F Company split into L and M Companies in the fall of '81, a few months into the school year, and I stayed where I was in M. The school decided that it was best to have two smaller companies to match what was literally etched in stone on the west entrances, like the photo above.

In M Company, we used to joke that L and M stood for "Ladies" and "Men." Being that the school was not yet co-ed, those in L Company were not amused at being called "ladies."

There was a trash can where the CQ desk is now, and the phone outside the TO's office was a pay phone. I made a lot of collect calls home on that pay phone, begging my father to get me out of there.

On the left side of the photo with the CQ desk in the middle: The room where I lived most of 6th grade ('81-'82) was the second open room past the closed door to the left of the bulletin board.
